5 Home Hacks... With Supplies You Likely Have at Home 1. Rearranging furniture in your home is great when you want a new look. However, what do you do about those furniture dents left behind in the carpet? Easy. Simply place ice cubes over the dents! Allow them to sit and work their magic for several hours. Remove the ice cubes, and blot the area with a towel or sponge. Repeat if necessary. 2. Are your doors making creaking noises every time you open or close them? Applying a small amount of olive oil or Vaseline on the hinges should do the trick. 3. Need to hang some pictures? You can actually use tabs from aluminum cans to do the job. First, take the bottom part of a can tab (the one closer to the opening you drink from). Position it in the top section of the back of the frame, where you would normally hang a picture, with the bottom of the tab facing down. Carefully screw the bottom part of the tab into the frame. Next, position the other end of the tab over a nail and line it up on the wall where you would like your frame to hang. Hang your picture, and enjoy the new addition to your wall! 4. Are there nail holes in your home that you would like to cover up without the trouble of painting over them? Grab a crayon that is close in color to your paint and color in the hole. Work the wax from the crayon into the hole using your finger. 5. Have a slow-moving drain? Pour hot water down the drain and add 1/2 cup of baking soda, followed by 1 cup of vinegar. Cover the drain and wait 10-15 minutes. Uncover, and pour more hot water down the drain. This should clear things out and prevent you from having a fully clogged drain. |
