I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a weird year and there’s no doubt Thanksgiving will probably look a little different this year. Rather than letting the circumstances get us down, we are choosing to be grateful and we're going to make the most of this holiday season. Here are a few ways you can make Thanksgiving special and possibly start a new tradition in your home: Dress the part. You could have a lot of fun with this and the options are endless. You could dress up and go super formal or pick a fun theme like tacky Christmas sweater, 80’s, characters from a movie, dress like a family member, etc. The sky's the limit on this one so go all out! Virtual meet up: If you have family or friends that can’t attend your dinner this year, get together on Google Meet or Zoom. Bring a TV into the dining room and get them on the screen so you can still talk and enjoy dinner “together”. Order from a local restaurant or bakery. Pick a side dish or dessert to cross off your to do list by ordering from a local restaurant or bakery. This is a great way to support a business in your community and lighten your load. Serve others. Decide on a charity or cause you want to support and sit down as a family after dinner to put the donations together. This will always put things into perspective and make you realize that there truly is so much to be thankful for! Although Thanksgiving is likely to be a little different this year, there is still so much we can do to make it special. Let’s choose gratitude and make the most of this holiday season! |
